Disha Pathak is currently a second year student at the Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business Studies. Her hobbies include writing mediocre poetry and hyperventilating when she has nothing to do for the day. If you see someone in the college corridor with messed up hair but perfectly winged eyeliner, holding her laptop like it is her baby there is a good chance that that person is Disha. Having been a part of the Public Relations Team during the last edition of the SSLA Summit, Disha’s aim this year is to helm an event that is bigger and better than its previous edition.
It is safe to say that Oishika Neogi is no newbie at this whole MUN shebang. Over time, Oishika’s interest and passion for MUNs gave her the practical knowledge to conceptualize the very first edition of the SSLA Summit. After spending days and nights to make it a success, she finally watched her vision transform into a reality in April 2018.
Apart from being far too invested in making sure that her primary areas of interest – diplomacy and international relations – are dinner table conversation, Oishika wears her enthusiasm on her sleeve and can be found speed walking across the corridors of SSLA at any hour of the day. She takes special pleasure in dal makhani and aloo paratha (with extra butter, of course) and spends her evenings nursing her newfound addiction to the TV show Scorpion.
Varad Godase is currently in his second year at SSLA, with a major in International Relations and a minor in Law. Varad is a true-blue enthu cutlet and does his best to be a part of every single event that takes place at SSLA. His hobbies include listening to Latin American pop music and watching cheesy Netflix rom-coms, and he spends all of his (very little) free time grooming his Instagram feed and his considerable fluency in the German language.
Varad has adopted the Summit as his own child, and is prepared to take whatever steps it takes to ensure its success. He is determined to take the conference to greater heights, and is looking forward to the challenge.
Simran Hora is a third year student at SSLA, and has a major in Psychology and a minor in English Literature. During her holidays, she volunteers at a free family counselling centre, and teaches English and Maths to Classes 6 and 7 for fun. She likes listening to jazz and old Hindi film songs. When she is not busy being the mom friend, she enjoys sketching and dancing to trashy Bollywood songs. In her capacity as Head of Finance, she would like to have you know that using calculators severely hurts her ego.
Vedanti is a second year student at SSLA with a Media major and a Business minor. Known for her calm and collected nature, she multitasks with extreme ease. Always equipped with a smile on her face and a ‘can do’ attitude, Logistics is her comfort zone.
Kshipra is a second-year student at SSLA, pursuing a major in Psychology and a minor in Film Studies. She believes that there is nothing more fulfilling than a plate of chicken biryani, or an afternoon spent listening to the songs of R.D Burman and Kishore Kumar.
Kshipra was a part of the Logistics Team for the SSLA Summit 2018. She finds joy in organisation and arrangement, making Logistics the perfect team for her. She is approaching the SSLA Summit 2019 with a spring in her step and a fresh notebook in her hands.
Mrinal Rajeev is a second year student who is currently pursuing a major in Political Science and a double minor in Film Studies and Economics. Mrinal is an avid film lover and filmmaker, has a keen interest in photography, and holds a soft spot for puppies, kurtas, and ice cream sandwiches. He has also been a prolific MUNer, having taken part as a delegate, EB member and OC member in over 20 MUNs. After working for the Marketing Team in the first edition of the SSLA Summit, Mrinal now as co-head hopes to bring his own eclectic flair to the image and brand of the SSLA Summit 2019.
Maanvi Khurana is a second year student with a major in Political Science and a double minor in History and Law. Aside from the simple pleasures of good films, good music and good food, Maanvi also enjoys deep-diving into a variety of work in and around college. Working on the PR and Marketing Teams of the SSLA Summit 2018 allowed her to get an insider’s view on the nature and dynamics of organising a successful conference, and she hopes to use this knowledge to further the spirit of the SSLA Summit in 2019.
Yash Joglekar is a second-year student with a major in Psychology and a minor in International Relations. He can usually be found reading the latest Catana Comics and stuffing himself with as much Nutella as his conscience permits him, all of it while waiting for Bayern Munich to win the Champions League. His vision for the Summit is for it to be bigger and bolder. He wants to make it the biggest event SSLA has ever had. He is also rather excited at the prospect of suiting up.
Arushi Rana is a first-year student from the city of Gurgaon and has been a part of the Delhi MUN circuit. Her interests consist of following the poetry of Walt Whitman and jamming to old and unabashedly generic indie music. She intends to help create the most enriching experience for all delegates for learning and meeting new people. Having organised two hugely successful MUNs in the past, she hopes to place the Summit into a new realm of excellence.
